Finpass

Integrity records

Every day, a fingerprint of the whole Finpass payment history is registered on the Bitcoin blockchain through OpenTimestamps, a free and open timestamping service. The fingerprint reveals nothing about payments or people. If any past record were changed, it would no longer match the fingerprint registered for that day.

What this proves, and what it doesn’t

It proves that no record was changed or deleted after the day it was registered. It does not prove that what was recorded was right in the first place: that depends on where each payment came from. That is why every payment in Finpass also carries its source — the bank, the bank statement, or the agency’s confirmation.

How to check a day

  1. Download the day’s record (.txt) and its proof (.ots).
  2. Open opentimestamps.org and drop both files there.
  3. It shows the Bitcoin block that holds the record. Before that, the proof is still waiting for a block, which usually takes a few hours.

The first record appears after the first day with payments.
